Henson Brand Dealerships and Freestone Autoplex Show Appreciation for Veterans with Jeep Giveaway

Spring, TX- Henson Brand Dealerships and Freestone Autoplex showed their appreciation for veterans this past weekend by giving away a brand new Jeep Wrangler to a deserving local veteran at the Spring Texas Music Festival. The winner was chosen out of 170 submissions, and Sgt. Heath Culbertson earned the grand prize.

A decorated and long service veteran, Sgt. Culbertson has a compelling story that left not a dry eye at the event. Throughout his service in the Air Force from 1996-2014, Heath served multiple tours including Okinawa, Iraq, Afghanistan, South Korea, and Sri Lanka. “In 2011, Culbertson served as the flight engineer on the Pavehawk HH-60G as a part of the 83rd Expeditionary Rescue Squadron in Afghanistan. During this operation, the crew recovered fellow pilots downed in an Army helicopter in the region. Culbertson and his crew were able to recover one of the deceased pilots and the rest of the crew; however, a bullet entered and exited his helmet in the process. Fortunately, the bullet did not penetrate his head. Culbertson and his crew received the Mackay Trophy for the most meritorious flight of the year,” an excerpt from Sgt. Culbertson’s biography. It was clear that this local hero deserved further recognition for his immense valor and sacrifice.

Henson Brand Dealerships is no stranger to car giveaways. Every month on Facebook live, a vehicle is given away. This brand new Jeep Wrangler happens to be the 41st vehicle that has been bestowed since joining Foundation Automotive Corp in 2019. Giving back to the community, supporting veterans, and hiring veterans are top priorities at both Henson Brand and Freestone. On top of the charitable giveaway, Henson also gave active military and veterans free oil changes on November 11th. “We are privileged to be part of this event. Anytime people come together to recognize veterans is extremely important and we’re honored to partake in that. Sgt. Culbertson risked his life for us, is an amazing hero, and we are happy that we are able to positively impact his life after all he’s done. We will gladly continue our contribution to this event every year,” said Eric Barbosa, managing partner of Henson Brand Dealerships.

“We were extremely excited to have the opportunity to contribute to this important event. We’re always grateful for the service of our veterans, and are glad we have been able to help in some way,” said Kip Hines, general manager of Freestone Autoplex.

The Spring Texas Music Festival was founded in 2015 by a group of locals wanting to raise awareness of local veterans in need. Henson Brand Dealerships and Freestone Autoplex are both part of Foundation Automotive Corp., based out of Spring, TX. Chuck Kramer, COO of Foundation Automotive, was the first sponsor of the music festival. “We started this event 5 years ago because we are so passionate about our vets and their sacrifice. At Foundation we make it a priority to hire veterans ready to get back into the workforce, and do whatever we can to honor those who have served,” said Kramer.
